Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins

This review may contain spoilers if you haven't read The Hunger Games.
Summary ( from book jacket) Sparks are igniting. Flames are spreading. And the Capitol wants revenge. Against all odds, Katniss has won the Hunger Games. She and fellow District 12 tribute Peeta Mellark are miraculously still alive. Katniss should be relieved, happy even. After all,she has returned to her family and her longtime friend, Gale. Yet nothing is the way Katniss wishes it to be. Gale holds her at an icy distance. Peeta has turned his back on her completely. And there are whispers of a rebellion against the Capitol- a rebellion that Katniss and Peeta may have helped create.  Much to her shock, Katniss has fueled an unrest she's afraid she cannot stop. And what scares her even more is that she's not entirely convinced she should try. As time draws near for Katniss and Peeta to visit the districts on the Capitol's cruel Victory Tour, the stakes are higher than ever. If they can't prove, without a shadow of doubt, that they are lost in their love for each other, the consequences will be horrifying.
Review: This book is amazing. It was so action packed and suspenseful from beginning to end. This book continues Katniss's story after she and Peeta won the games. It book doesn't have a single dull moment and kept me on the edge of my seat until I was done reading. The plot of this story is really amazing. I don't know where Collins came up with some of the more shocking plot twists. You think you know where the story is going to go while your reading it but, really ,you don't.
The characters in this story are really great. I love Katniss and her family and friends along with a ton of new characters that are introduced in this book. I liked Finnick alot. He was kind of the don't judge a book by it's cover character and I liked him. I also liked Wiress and Beete. They were cool. It seems like I could go on all day there are so many awesome characters in this sereis. Katniss has been through alot in her life and her troubles only seem to grow in this book. She is conflicted with her feelings about Peeta and Gale and is facing a whole new slew of responsibilites now that she has won the games and has somehow become the face for rebellion. She is strong and determined and will give everything she has for what she believes is right. I have to say I hope she ends up with Gale, Petta just bugs me for some reason although I began to like him a little better in this book.
This book also ends in one of the most suspensful cliffhangers ever. I absolutely can't wait for Mockingjay, the third and final book in the series. Defienetly read this sereis if you haven't already.
